Form builder
Describe the questions you need to an assistant, see the form take shape in a live preview, then save and publish it.
/forms/<id> is where one form is built. The left side is a chat with an assistant; the right side is the form itself: its title, the save and publish buttons, the list of questions and a live preview of what the applicant will see.
Who can use it#
Needs forms.manage. The assistant also needs the AI provider to be configured; if it is not, the chat says so and you can still edit by hand.
Building with the assistant#
Say what you need ("ask for the bank name, the account's age and a voided cheque"). The assistant answers with a short note and a list of edits: add, change, move or remove questions, rename sections, set conditions. The server checks every edit against the whole form and skips the ones that do not fit (a duplicate id, a condition that points at a later question, a removed question another one depends on); the chat tells you how many were skipped and why. The assistant never saves anything. Undo last change steps back through the edits made in this page (it is forgotten when you reload).
The model behind the chat is chosen by platform staff per flow, and starts on a free model; see AI assistance.
Question types#
Text, long text, email, phone, number, money (stored in cents), date, single choice, multiple choice, yes or no, address, tax ID (nine digits, stored without the dash), file, a repeating group of rows, and a read-only note. A question can be required and can show only when an earlier answer matches (for example, ask for the articles of incorporation only when the entity type is Corporation). A form holds at most 200 questions.
Save and publish#
- Save draft keeps your work; applicants never see a draft.
- Publish saves first, then freezes a new version. Publishing a form that has not changed does nothing and says so.
- Each question has a Remove button; anything else is changed by asking the assistant.
Files#
A file question collects up to the number of files you set. Applicants upload through the same checked upload as every other application document (virus scan, 4 MB limit per file), so the files appear in the application's documents as well as in the form.
